Why Evolve Ceramic Works So Well in Arizona
Arizona heat makes infrared performance more than just a specification on a brochure. When your vehicle sits in direct sun or you’re driving with sunlight coming through the windshield and side glass, reducing solar energy coming through the glass can make a noticeable difference in comfort.
Evolve sits at the top of SunTek’s automotive lineup for this reason. Its HeatResist™ ceramic nanoparticle technology is specifically engineered for high infrared and overall solar-energy rejection while maintaining a clean appearance and electronic signal clarity.
Depending on the shade, Evolve rejects 50% to 65% of total solar energy and carries published IRER ratings of 64% to 65% and SIRR ratings of 93% to 94%.
If maximum heat performance is the priority, this is the SunTek film we recommend first.

What You Get With SunTek Evolve Ceramic
Evolve combines SunTek’s highest level of automotive heat performance with ceramic construction, UV protection and a wide range of shades.
Highest SunTek Infrared Performance
Evolve carries published SIRR ratings of 93% to 94% and IRER ratings of 64% to 65%, making it SunTek’s highest-performing automotive tint for infrared rejection.
HeatResist™ Ceramic Technology
Proprietary ceramic nanoparticles target infrared energy while remaining virtually invisible within the film.
Over 99% UV Protection
Evolve blocks more than 99% of ultraviolet energy in the manufacturer’s tested wavelength range, helping protect occupants and vehicle interiors from UV exposure.
Signal Friendly
Evolve uses non-metal ceramic technology, allowing phones, GPS, Bluetooth and other electronic signals to operate normally inside the vehicle.
Wide Shade Selection
From lighter 70% film to dark 5%, Evolve gives you multiple options for appearance, privacy and glare control without giving up its premium film technology.
Lifetime Limited Warranty
SunTek Evolve is backed by a manufacturer’s lifetime limited warranty against covered issues including color change, peeling, cracking, adhesive failure and delamination.
SunTek Evolve Ceramic Performance by Shade
Evolve’s infrared performance stays remarkably consistent across the shade range. The biggest differences between shades are visible light transmission, glare reduction and total solar energy rejection.

VLT — Visible Light Transmission: the percentage of visible light that passes through the film and test glass.
TSER — Total Solar Energy Rejection: the percentage of total solar energy rejected by the film-and-glass system.
IRER — Infrared Energy Rejection: a broader measurement of infrared heat performance that includes absorbed and re-radiated infrared energy.
SIRR — Selective Infrared Rejection: the percentage of solar infrared radiation that is not directly transmitted through the glass.
Manufacturer specifications are calculated using nominal 1/4-inch clear glass. Actual results vary depending on the vehicle glass, factory tint, film shade and measurement method.
What Do Evolve’s Ceramic Infrared Ratings Actually Mean?
Evolve carries two manufacturer-published infrared ratings: IRER and SIRR. They measure infrared performance in different ways, which is why the numbers are not the same.
Evolve’s published IRER is 64% to 65%. IRER is the more complete measurement because it accounts for infrared energy that passes through the glass as well as energy absorbed by the glass and later re-radiated.
Its published SIRR is 93% to 94%. SIRR focuses on solar infrared radiation that is not directly transmitted through the film-and-glass system.
A handheld infrared meter in our shop may display a different percentage because many shop meters measure energy at a specific wavelength rather than using the same testing methodology SunTek uses for IRER and SIRR.
That’s why we use meter demonstrations as a useful real-world comparison between films, but we do not present the handheld-meter number as being interchangeable with SunTek’s published IRER or SIRR specifications.
SunTek Evolve vs. CeramicIR
Both are premium ceramic films. The main question is how far you want to go with heat and infrared performance.
Choose CeramicIR If…
CeramicIR is already a significant step up in heat performance and is an excellent choice for drivers who want ceramic technology without moving all the way to SunTek’s highest-performing film.
Depending on the shade, CeramicIR carries published IRER ratings of approximately 58% to 60% and SIRR ratings of approximately 83% to 86%.
Choose Evolve Ceramic If…
Evolve takes the performance another step further. Its HeatResist™ ceramic technology carries published IRER ratings of 64% to 65% and SIRR ratings of 93% to 94%.
If your priority is getting the strongest heat and infrared performance available in the SunTek automotive lineup, Evolve is the better fit.
Choosing the Right Evolve Ceramic Shade
Evolve’s ceramic technology remains the same throughout the shade range, so choosing a shade is largely about appearance, privacy, glare and how much visible light you want coming through the glass.
Lighter Evolve Shades
Evolve 70 and 50 are good choices when you want strong heat performance while keeping the glass relatively light. Lighter films are especially useful when maintaining visibility and a subtle appearance are priorities.
Mid-Range Evolve Shades
Evolve 45, 35 and 30 provide a darker appearance with increased privacy and glare reduction without moving into the darkest tint options.
Darker Evolve Shades
Evolve 20, 15 and 5 provide significantly more privacy and glare reduction. These shades create a much darker appearance, so visibility and applicable tint laws should be considered before choosing them.
We can show you the shades in person and help you choose based on your vehicle, existing factory glass and the finished appearance you want.

Professional Evolve Installation in Peoria, AZ
SunTek Evolve is installed at our Peoria shop by experienced window film installers who work with these products every day.
Before installation, we’ll walk you through the available shades, explain the performance differences and help you account for any factory-stained glass already on the vehicle.
Our goal is straightforward: help you choose the right film first, then give you a clean installation that looks like it belongs on the vehicle.
SunTek Evolve Window Tint FAQs
Is Evolve SunTek’s best automotive window tint?
For heat and infrared performance, yes. SunTek currently positions Evolve as its highest-performing automotive window tint, with HeatResist™ ceramic technology and published SIRR ratings as high as 94%.
How much infrared heat does Evolve reject?
SunTek currently publishes approximately 54–56% IRER and 76–79% SIRR for CXP, depending on shade. Handheld meter readings may show different percentages because they use a different testing method.
Is SunTek Evolve a ceramic tint?
Yes. Evolve uses SunTek’s proprietary HeatResist™ ceramic nanoparticle technology and does not rely on metal for its infrared performance.
Is Evolve worth upgrading from CeramicIR?
If maximum heat and infrared rejection are priorities, Evolve is the stronger performer. CeramicIR already provides excellent ceramic-film performance, while Evolve adds another level of infrared rejection for drivers who want the highest-performing SunTek option.
Does Evolve interfere with phones or GPS?
Evolve uses non-metal ceramic technology and is designed to maintain electronic signal clarity for devices such as phones, GPS and Bluetooth systems.
What shades does Evolve come in?
The current Evolve lineup includes 70, 50, 45, 35, 30, 20, 15 and 5. Keep in mind that the number in the product name is not necessarily the exact finished VLT once the film is installed over automotive glass.
Does SunTek Evolve have a lifetime warranty?
Yes. SunTek currently backs Evolve with a manufacturer’s lifetime limited warranty against covered issues including color change, peeling, cracking, adhesive failure and delamination. Certain restrictions apply under the manufacturer’s warranty terms.
